Musings on art and life.
With only a couple of days left before the first ferry brings all you happy-go-lucky art lovers over to Olympic island for Figment 2014, I think it’s high time I fill you in on some of the magic we have in store…
Nathalie Quagliotto is bringing Maturity Correlation—a swing set that invokes nostalgia while creating a collaborative play situation..
Cyril Williams is bringing his Imaginary Dragon (that you get to help build and make real!)…
Ana Jofre is bringing a BRAND NEW, as of yet unnamed marionette… that breaths! Here’s a gif of her work in progress…
Be sure to visit to see the finished piece!
Special guests Yana and Heather from the artists collective Calling All Parties are joining us again this year from New York! They are bringing an epic game called Aqua Attack, that involves costumes and a friendly fight using wet plushies…
Bush Vérité are bringing… themselves…
And Geordie Lishman is bringing a mechanized, interactive Fish… this isn’t it…
This is just a sneak peak, in no particular order, and with MANY more on the roster! Now that you know some of what’s in store—What are you bringing??
Working on this project, with such an epic team of wonderful people, has been a privilege from the very beginning. As with all undertakings, there have been stresses and trials, and every moment has been well worth it because of the connections and friendships made along the way. Long may it continue!
